At April’s board meeting, a new agreement was signed between the CCEA Education Support Professionals and the Board of Education. Dr. Willoughby summarized the agreement by saying, “Largely the theme was aligning language to the teacher agreement so that across the board, where appropriate and where available, we have one set of rules for all our employees, whether support staff, teachers or administrators. That is something that we are very proud of.”

Fine dining for the Caroline family! A 9-session Community Kitchen Workshop at LMS gave students the opportunity to explore career pathways in the Food and Beverage Management and Agriculture Programs, and introduced them to Career and Technology Education (CTE) opportunities available in high school. Many thanks to Chef Ogden with CCTC, Chef Murray with the Culinary Arts Center, and Chef Sipala with Shore Gourmet for an informative and educational experience for students, and a delicious fine dining experience for their families!

A beautiful early spring week for the #CarolineFamily!

Teachers Ms. Amalfitano, Ms. Bradley, and Mr. Sechrist, along with supervisor Ms. Towers, were positively glowing about their recent experiences at the National Science Teachers College Conference! They were selected for the Scaling Up for STEM Initiative by Northrop Grumman, and are bringing back hands-on learning experiences for their students. #CarolineFamily

Our students had the awesome opportunity to attend the Youth Environmental Action Summit Hosted by ShoreRivers, held at Chesapeake College.
High school students and teachers networked with 20 organizations committed to growing a green workforce through high school level internships and volunteer opportunities. Participants learned about James Ronayne, environmental photographer, conservationist, and storyteller whose work is influenced by the Chesapeake Bay and the watershed region. They also attended hands-on workshops focused on inspiring student action with session topics including environmental justice, greenhouse gases, murals, native plants, invasive species detector dogs, a career panel, and more. Many thanks to Shore Rivers and the sponsors who provided an amazing day!

If you recently attended the Salisbury Symphony Orchestra, did you notice a familiar face? During the regular conductor's six week sabbatical, Mr. Cheezum served as conductor for the SSO. The culminating event was a three-concert series for children and families which featured a puppet show accompanied by the orchestra. Over 1,000 people got to hear some incredible music, led by our own Caroline family member, Mr. Cheezum!

This week was full of St. Patrick's Day fun and celebrations of spring that involved bird houses and kites. The #CarolineFamily welcomed the warmer weather!
