Kids Playing

Health Education courses at CCPS are focused on building health-literate students. Health literacy refers to the ability to obtain, interpret, and understand basic health information and services to make healthy lifestyle choices, and achieving health literacy for all students is dependent upon a comprehensive health education curriculum.

Physical Education aims to provide students with a developmentally appropriate and personally challenging program that advances the knowledge, confidence, and motivation needed to engage in a lifelong, healthy, active lifestyle.

We strive for well-fed kids and happy kitchens!  We provide excellent customer service, quality food, and as much locally-sourced product as possible.

We strive to provide an athletic program that is beneficial for all athletes, and one that gives them the opportunity to learn the skills of the game, good sportsmanship, and build strong character.

Pupil Personnel Services

Pupil Personnel Services

Pupil Personnel Workers (PPWs) serve as facilitators between families and schools. Working collaboratively, PPWs help identify, address, and alleviate issues impacting a student’s education, especially those related to attendance, residency verification, custody, and personal hardship. PPWs get to know families across the county and connect them to the resources they need to help their children be successful in school.

Please visit the Student Services page for PPW information and related services.

RESOURCES

Mental Health Resources: CCPS partners with Cook Center for Human Connection to provide parents and caregivers access to the Mental Health and Wellness Resource Center at ParentGuidance.org.

Community Schools serve as hubs that bring families, communities, and partners together to remove barriers to learning. Each Community School has a coordinator who works to connect families with resources, establish and strengthen community partnerships, and plan programming to support students and their families.

The CCPS Social-Emotional Well-Being Program connects students & families with services, help facilitate and coordinate the delivery of those services, and provide resources that enable students and families to learn and thrive.

School Based Health Centers - In partnership with Choptank Community Health System (CCHS), CCPS offers health services to students during the school day through School Based Health Centers (SBHC). These centers, currently offered at all CCPS schools, are staffed by CCHS nurse practitioners and physicians’ assistant. Dental services are also offered at each school once a year.

Caroline County Public Library - My Family Needs is both a web-based service listing over 300 community organizations, and a referral service staffed by highly-trained library staff who are committed to linking families with local organizations. To reach library staff, send an email to info@carolib.org, or call 410-479-1343 during open library hours.
