Dear PES Families,
Our newsletter can be accessed here.
We hope everyone is having a fantastic weekend! Please read the entire newsletter to catch up on all the news and upcoming details from Preston Elementary School. We encourage you to also follow us on Facebook and the CCPS app. Here are the important updates for this week:
A huge THANK YOU to all the wonderful parents who joined us for an unforgettable Parent Day at Preston Elementary School this past Friday! It was a joy to see our classrooms filled with engaged families, laughter, and learning. From interactive activities to heartwarming moments with students, the day truly showcased the strong partnership between our school and our amazing parents.
Thank you to our Panther Families, volunteers, local scout organizations, and Preston Panther PTO for helping make this year's Winter Book Fair a huge success! Because of your generous donations and support, our Panthers have many literary adventures ahead of them. We would also like to thank Mrs. Linda Blackmon for all of her hard work and tireless efforts to ensure that our Book Fairs are second to none!
Attention PES Families: Our next Spirit Day is coming up! PES will celebrate Read Across America Week with various activities within our school, and a Spirit Day on Friday, 3/7! We encourage our Panthers to dress like their favorite book characters that day! We can't wait to see some of our favorite book characters jump off the page at PES! #PESReads #PESPantherPride
We are preparing for our next Buddy Day and are looking for cardboard boxes, paper towels, toilet paper rolls, and other fun materials for a St. Patrick's Day-themed Buddy Day. Donations are due by March 7th.
This week, we shine our PES Educator Spotlight on Mrs. Mackenzie Reynolds! Mrs. Reynolds is a 4th Grade Math, Science, & Social Studies Teacher and 5th Grade Math Teacher here at Preston Elementary School and has taught for 7 years! Mrs. Reynolds holds an Undergraduate Degree from Salisbury University in Elementary Education and is currently pursuing a Graduate Degree from La Salle with a concentration in Teaching Strategies for the 21st Century Learner. Mrs. Reynolds is a member of our SIP Wellbeing and Belonging Committee. Mrs. Reynolds plans to continue to help students develop a love for mathematics! We are so thankful that Mrs. Reynolds has made the Panther Pride Den her home! #PESEducators #PESPantherPride
