Dear PES Families,

Our newsletter can be found here.

We hope everyone is having a fantastic weekend! Winter Break is almost here, and we have a great last week planned for before we break for the holiday season! Please be sure to read the entire newsletter for all of the upcoming events at PES and for other important CCPS information.

PES is collecting food donations for our annual PES Idlewild Ruritan Club Food Drive until Tuesday, 12/17. Flyers have been sent home with details on items needed, and this information can also be found on our Facebook page, website blog, and newsletter.

Holiday Spirit Week is coming up and will be held from Monday, 12/16, to Friday, 12/20. Please see the details in our newsletter. Our Spirit Week information has been sent home with students via paper copies as well as posted to our Facebook page and website blog.

Winter Break is almost here! Please see your child's bookbags for information on class Holiday Parties and attendance procedures. The last day before Winter Break is Friday, December 20, and it will be a 1/2 day of school with a 1 PM dismissal.

This week, we shine our PES Educator Spotlight on Mr. Justin Klein! Mr. Klein has taught at PES for 20 years and teaches 4th and 5th grade ELA, Science, and Social Studies. Mr. Klein holds a Bachelor's Degree in American Studies and a Master’s in Educational Technology. Mr. Klein is an active member of our PES SIP Team and continues to learn and grow as an educator at PES! We are so thankful that Mr. Klein has made the Panther Pride Den his home! #PESEducators #PESPantherPride

Our school is continuing to take part in an exciting, community-wide shared reading event. Today, after our newest special school-wide assembly, your child received a copy of the book—Friendship According to Humphrey by Betty G. Birney—and again is being asked to read it with his or her family at home over the next few weeks. We ask you to make the time to read the book together so your family can participate in this fun reading experience. The information in our newsletter below is being sent home with all students, can be found on our website and blog, and has been emailed to all families

Please read our full newsletter for all the latest PES and CCPS news. This includes information from our school, the larger school district, and some of our community partners offering resources to our families.
