Kelly Harding, Colonel Richardson High School student, has been named one of the 24: Maryland's Emerging Scholars by the Maryland Business Roundtable for Education (MBRT). This prestigious award recognizes and honors exceptional students who are making significant contributions to their communities, schools, and their futures. Students are nominated by teachers, community members, and mentors for excelling in all they do, and out of nearly 300 applicants, only 24 students are selected as their district's award recipient.

Lindsey McCormick, Director of Career and College Readiness, shared that Kelly has a deep commitment to making a difference through her involvement in MBRT’s Next Generation Scholars program and as a Student Ambassador. She also explained that MBRT focuses specifically on students in STEM programs such as Kelly, who is in the biomedical program and wants to become a physician’s assistant.

Abby Wittman, Program Specialists for Next Generations Scholars, was on hand to congratulate Kelly and share the importance of the award.
