Physical Education teachers Brittany Duty, Lockerman Middle School, and Joe Bildstein, North Caroline High School, recently received the Simon A. McNeely Award from SHAPE Maryland.
This award recognizes educators who have made significant contributions to innovative teaching practices, demonstrated active involvement in their communities, and shown outstanding leadership in their schools and beyond. Named in honor of Mr. Simon McNeely, a special education teacher and long-standing member of the President's Council on Physical Fitness, as well as a member of the U.S. and International Olympic Committees, this award celebrates those who embody his spirit of service and dedication to healthful living.
“We are so proud to once again have Caroline educators recognized for their work,” said Supervisor of Instruction Amy Towers. “Both Brittany and Joe are great examples of physical education teachers who go above and beyond for their students.”
The awards were presented to Ms. Duty and Mr. Bildstein at the Shape MD conference earlier this month.
