Chrissy Bartz was sworn in as the newest member of the Caroline County Board of Education at the July meeting. Ms. Bartz fills the vacancy left by former board member Donna DiGiacomo’s resignation.

In order to fill the vacancy, the Board, following the Maryland Education Code, accepted applications and conducted interviews during an open meeting. Ms. Bartz was chosen from among the applicants.

Noting the large number family and friends of Ms. Bartz in the audience, President Barton thanked them for coming and said, “It’s a statement that the board made the right decision.”

Ms. Bartz is the Director of Community Based Programs for Choptank Community Health. Currently she is the provider at the Greensboro Elementary School Wellness Center, while also supporting patient care in Choptank’s family practice, pediatric and migrant practices. Ms. Bartz holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology, and a Master’s degree in Medical Science. She is also a Certified Physician Assistant and EMT-B, and CPR and AED Instructor.

Ms. Bartz is a lifelong resident of Caroline County and graduate of North Caroline High School. She and her husband JT live in Henderson with their daughter Mady, a rising junior at North Caroline High School.
