Caroline County Public Schools Support Services Center staff recently celebrated a successful summer with a crab feast at Martinak State Park.

Summer is generally the busiest time of year for staff who work in Energy Management, Facilities and Maintenance, Food Services, School Safety, Technology and Transportation. This summer was no exception with projects spanning all schools and buildings. At the September Board of Education Meeting, Director of Operations provided a detailed report to the Board.

During the event, Mr. Mengal remarked on the extensive list of projects each department accomplished in preparing buildings and equipment for the return of staff and students. “It’s an enormous amount of work over the course of a very short summer,” Mr. Mengel said. “Each of you worked hard to ensure everything was ready for the school year.”

The celebration was made possible with donations from:

  • Maryland Power Systems LLC
  • Garland/DBS Inc.
  • Chesapeake Hydro-Wash, LLC
  • Armor Fire Sprinkler Service, LLC
  • Choptank Excavating
  • Bay Tree Services
  • Top Notch Distributors
  • Maryland Department of Natural Resources
  • Martinak State Park (use of the Pavilion)

Crabs were supplied by Blough’s Seaford. Sides and desserts were provided by the Chesapeake Culinary Center.
