18 seniors were recognized at the recent Caroline Career & Technology Center / North Caroline High School Teacher Academy of Maryland (TAM) Program dinner.
The TAM Program is a Career & Technical Education (CTE) program, and is designed for students who want to explore a career as an elementary, middle or high school, teacher, and allows students to get hands-on experience in a classroom setting.
The event was attended by TAM seniors and their families, and Principals Courtney Handte and Matt Spiker from CCTC and NCHS. For a portion of their program, TAM seniors are assigned to a teacher-mentor in a CCPS classroom. Those teacher-mentors and school principals were also in attendance to honor their students.
At the dinner, seniors were individually highlighted in a slideshow and then called to the podium to receive a certificate. Teacher mentors gave their seniors gifts to commemorate their time together. In return, the program gave teacher mentors and administrators a gift to show their appreciation.
