Girl learning Math

Caroline County Public Schools utilizes the Maryland College and Career Readiness Standards for Mathematics as the foundation for the mathematics program. Students advancing through the grades are expected to meet each year’s grade-specific standards and retain or further develop skills and understandings mastered in the preceding grades.

The instructional goal for Caroline County Public Schools is for students to become citizens who are able to apply mathematical skills, and understanding to their careers and higher levels of mathematics. In order to accomplish this, an equal emphasis is placed on mastering mathematics procedures; understanding the mathematical concepts that underlie those procedures; developing fluency; and applying learning to real contexts.
