Mr. Jared Sherman

Dear CRHS Families,

Welcome to the Colonel Richardson High School website! I hope that you will find all of the information you are looking for about our school on this webpage. If not, please call us at 410-479-3678.

Colonel Richardson High School is a small school serving about 500 students in 9th-12th grades. We offer a variety of programs including Project Lead the Way Biomedical, Project Lead the Way Engineering, and the Teacher Academy of Maryland, just to name a few. CRHS also partners with the Caroline Career and Technology Center to offer programs such as Automotive Technology, Construction, Cosmetology, Curriculum for Agricultural Science Education (CASE), Food and Beverage Management, and many other specialties. Chesapeake College is also a community partner to CRHS, offering multiple dual enrollment program courses.

The mission of CRHS is built around being Colonel TOUGH. Our students Treat others with respect, Obtain goals, Understand diversity, Go above and beyond, and Have Heart! CRHS prepares students for college and career readiness through a student-centered learning environment that includes a balance of autonomy and collaboration, authentic learning, challenging each other's thinking, and modeling a TOUGH culture. Our teachers are highly qualified in their content areas and offer their expertise to students through authentic tasks with real life application.

CRHS parents are very involved in their children's high school experience. Basketball, baseball, softball, football, tennis, track, wrestling, volleyball, golf, and unified sports are athletics our students enjoy! Our chorus, band, and marching band are a Colonel treasure as well as our Drama Club. CRHS recognizes students' excellence and effort through Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) incentives and is a PBIS GOLD school! Students are also honored for their academic success through the National Honor Society, National Technical Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society, French Honor Society, National Art Honor Society, and Tri-M Music Honor Society.

At CRHS, we have excellent parent and community involvement! From our parents making subs for Band Boosters, to raising money and running our After Prom festivities, to local parades, our students always feel the love and support of their school community.

I am honored to serve Colonel Richardson High School as principal.  I have been a part of the Colonel family for 18 years as a teacher, dean of students, and assistant principal.  I am proud to be a Colonel and look forward to keeping CRHS Colonel T.O.U.G.H.  If I can be of assistance to you, please feel free to reach out by phone or email.

Jared Sherman, Principal
