Project Lead the Way: Engineering

The Project Lead The Way (PLTW) Engineering program prepares students for further education and careers in engineering and engineering technology. Students complete foundation-level courses in Engineering, including Principles of Engineering, Introduction to Engineering Design, and Digital Electronics. Students then select an area of specialization, including Computer Integrated Manufacturing, Civil Engineering and Architecture, Aerospace Engineering, or Biotechnical Engineering. In the final course, students also complete an industry-mentored capstone project in Engineering Design and Development.

CAREER EXPLORATION

Engineering careers are a good fit for students who enjoy math and/or sciences. These careers attract people who like to understand and improve how things work. Innovative thinking is important for many careers in the field, and lifelong learning and staying current on the latest technology are important. A high standard for safety and proper documentation is important.
